Walking in the Djurgården
For centuries, Djurgården has been a beloved destination for recreation and entertainment. Nowhere in Stockholm will you find a higher concentration of popular attractions and museums.
During the 16th century, Djurgården was King Erik XIV’s private weekend hideaway for recreation and hunting. Over the course of history though, the island gradually opened up to the public. Today it’s a popular family destination with several attractions, like Skansen, ABBA The Museum, and Gröna Lund, surrounded by the Royal National City Park.
Visiting Vasa Museum: You will learn about the history of the ship Vasa, which sank in 1628 and stayed on the bottom of the sea for 333 years. You will see the ship, guns, clothes, and utensils found in the ship, and ship models; you will learn about the lives of sailors, which served on the ship, about the cause of the disaster, and much more.
Visiting Skansen Open-air Museum
Skansen is a favorite both among Stockholmers and visitors passing through, and it’s a perfect family outing. This is the oldest open-air museum in the world and also the Stockholm zoo, with animals native to Scandinavia, a children’s petting zoo, and two indoor aquariums; Skansen’s Aquarium and the Baltic Sea Science Center.
Skansen is beautifully located on Royal Djurgården and offers spectacular views over all of Stockholm. This is also Sweden in miniature. 150 farms and dwellings from different parts of the country were disassembled and transported here. Swedish traditions such as Midsummer, Walpurgis Night, and Lucia are celebrated at Skansen.
Option: Stockholm Rooftop Walking tour: this unique tour has you walking and shuffling (while harnessed safely of course) across Stockholm‘s historic rooftops to show you views of the city from unique angles and perspectives.

Our guide will bring you for a fishing tour. Stockholm is situated at one of the world’s largest archipelagos containing more than 30 000 islands. The fishing possibilities are endless with everything from open coastlines where you can hunt for sea trout in the cold months of the year to secluded bays with perfect conditions for northern pike, perch and other species.
We fish in the bays and around the islands of Stockholm archipelago in depths seldom over 10 feet (4 meters). Our guides always adopt the tours after the weather conditions to make the day enjoyable and safe.
- Lunch at a restaurant in the archipelago
After lunch, you will have a guided trail – Stockholm Archipelago Trail from 2-3 hours.
Take the boat to Fredriksborg is a fortification construction on Värmdö close to Oxdjupet, the inlet to Stockholm. The fortress, as well as the buildings surrounding it, was built to protect Stockholm against foreign enemies who came closer after the Great Nordic war from year 1700 to 1721.
The construction commenced year 1724, based on blueprints made by general Axel Löwen. This would be the ultimate defence for Stockholm: situated 40 meters above the sea and equipped with both rifle and cannon artillery. The fortress was surrounded by a ditch and could only be reached by a drawbridge, which is still intact today.
The building of the fortress was finalized in 1735 and was named Fredriksborg Fortress after King Fredrik I. It was considered the strongest fortress in Europe.
