Colombian Music 101 – 2 hours

This experience is a real treat for music lovers. Colombia is one of the richest countries in Latin America in terms of musical rhythms, having a tremendous musical diversity comparable to Brazil or Cuba. On this tour, Gregorio Uribe will open you the doors to his house and his studio to have the marvelous opportunity to experience and learn about Colombian music. Gregorio will guide you through Colombian rich musical heritage as he plays a selection of songs of multiple genres and uses the piano and drums as a didactic tool for a more comprehensive approach to Colombian music

Later visit the Barrio Egitpo and live one of our most wanted social transformation experiences in the mindful Breaking Borders Tour and finish it with a visit to the Buena Semilla Foundation to learn about a workshop of wool and wood that is been acting as an Oasis in the middle of a very difficult neighborhood for woman and men that have lost a lot in the gang violence. Walking tour in La Candelaria and visit to the Gold Museum.

The fruit tour is a unique experience that will engage you with the vast diversity of food, geography and cultures of Colombia in just one place: the Paloquemao Plaza, the only market in the world where you can find up to 67 different fruits! An expert guide, who has worked with the market community since 2015, will connect you with farmers and merchants so that you can learn about their family businesses and community projects, as you taste Colombia’s mega-diversity

Breaking Borders + Lunch and wood & weaving workshop – 4 hours.
The most passionate souls will not regret adding a visit to a wood carving and traditional wool workshop at the Buena Semilla Foundation. Led by empowered women and ex-convicts from the Egipto neighborhood, you will delve deeper into the Breaking Borders experience, and you will be able to learn about one of the most Colombian and Andean traditions by weaving the well-known ruanas

Today we will visit the unique paramo tundra landscape of the high parts of the Andes Mountain range. We will visit Chingaza National Natural Park and enjoy a 3-hour low-medium difficulty hike to three sacred lagoons for the Muiscas, ancient.
pre-columbian communities. The paramos are unique ecosystems of the South American tropics and Colombia has the largest number of paramos in the world. You will visit the sacred lagoons of Siecha and walk through valleys full of frailejones, and hopefully you will see some wild animal!

La Palma y el Tucán Coffee Farm

Enjoy the nature at a beautiful Coffee Farm outside Bogotá. Learn how they are cultivating coffee, fruits, and vegetables and indulge in a fresh locally sourced meal. After enjoying your coffee and being introduced to the place, you will be taken to witness the different stages of the coffee process. Starting with the seeds, moving on to transplantation, crops, and harvest you will get in touch with nature and learn about different coffee species and the factors that make Colombian special coffee so valuable.

Afternoon canoe tour through the mangroves of La Boquilla and after a short coconut water break you will go to Batambora a local music school and perform on the unique Drums at the Beach experience.

Visit la Boquilla, a local less known beach of Cartagena and meet a group of fisherman who dedicated their lives to the preservation of this crucial marine ecosystem. This canoe trip will take you through the channels and tunnels formed by dense mangrove swamp forests.

Drums at the beach – 2 hours

On our Drums at the Beach experience, you’ll hunt down the energetic rhythms of Afro-Colombian sounds and genres with experts. This takes place 20 minutes drive from Cartagena at La Boquilla, a fisher village with a flourishing culture. After getting to know the the area with the company of one of the locals, you’ll embark on your musical trip provided by a social enterprise who is using this art support local youth.

8 AM Visit San Basilio de Palenque, the first free town of America, and explore the vibrant afro-culture through history, traditional music, and tasty food. This tour is part of our brand HEART experiences.

San Basilio de Palenque, Music, Food and Freedom! 8 hours! 8 hrs

San Basilio de Palenque was the first free town in America, founded by self-emancipated former enslaved africans during Colombia’s colonial period. This town remains a symbol of resistance and of African pride due to its impressive story. Thanks to isolation and resistance, Palenqueros preserved African culture while creating new local manifestations such as Alegrías (a type of candy), Son Palenquero (a music genre) and the first Spanish-based creole language, which is still spoken in this place.

8 AM – 5 PM — Cruise around the Rosario islands making stops to snorkel and swim in clear tranquil in a private speed boat for 18 people (42 ft) with a friendly crew on board, cooler with ice and bottled water.

Sail around the Rosario Islands making stops for snorkeling and swimming in clear, calm waters. There are reefs and a sunken plane for snorkeling, but it’s also a great place to swim/ paddle. Visit a quiet sandy island (an option for lunch too) where you can swim, relax on the beach or hammock and get a massage under the shade of tropical trees.
