Arrival at Rio de Janeiro airport

Welcome by our English-speaking guide and transfer by air-conditioned coach – duration approx. 1 hour.
On the way, our guide will welcome all participants and give some information about the city and their hotel.
Check in at the hotel from 2:00 p.m.
We’ll drop off our suitcases at the hotel, check in and then set off on a walking tour of the hotel district and along Copacabana beach, followed by lunch.

Visit to Corcovado and city tour
Discover Corcovado. Climb to the top of Corcovado mountain, home to Christ the Redeemer, for a panoramic view of the city and its neighborhoods. At over 710 metres high, the statue of Christ is undoubtedly one of the most admired and visited monuments in the world. The view from the top is breathtaking: Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, the Botanical Gardens, the Hippodrome, the Lagoon and finally a breathtaking Rio, always under the protection of Christ who, from the top of Corcovado, blesses all those whom the city welcomes. At the end of the tour, we pass through the Tijuca urban Atlantic Forest.

Visit of the Sugar Loaf
Departure for the “Pao de Açucar“the famous Sugar Loaf, another symbol of Rio, like Christ the Redeemer. Cable car ride to the summit. From its height of 395 metres, the granite rock dominates the entire city and Guanabara Bay. It was here, in this sublime bay, that Portuguese sailors landed one morning in January 1502. Believing themselves to be in a river estuary, they named the site “Rio Janeiro”.Rio de Janeiro“(January River). It was not until thirty years later that they colonized the site, finally laying the foundation stone for the “Sao Sebastiao de Rio de Janeiro”.Sao Sebastiao de Rio de Janeiro“on March 1, 1565. From the top of the Rocher, the view is splendid and grandiose. City Tour
Depart for the city center for a walking tour of Rio de Janeiro, the country’s capital for 2 centuries. Passing through the streets, the city’s architecture demonstrates Colonial, Imperial and Republican influences. The tour begins with one of our most important cultural heritages, the Church of Candelária, a neoclassical construction begun in 1630 and not completed until 1775. Continuing along rue Primeiro de Março, you’ll see the Bank of Brazil Cultural Center, Maison France Brésil, Paço Impérial (once home to the governors and the Imperial family), Tiradentes Palace, Place XV and Place Cinelândia, where you’ll find the Municipal Theater, Legislative Assembly, National Library and Fine Arts Museum, and Place Maua.

Visit a samba school to understand the industry and carnival in detail.
Arrival by bus in the courtyard of the Samba City, immediate entrance to the Grande Rio samba school hangar. First, we’ll take a look at the large tank assembly hall. . Depending on the time of year, we will assist with the assembly or dismantling of the floats. Then we go upstairs for a video presentation of the history, details and intricacies of a samba school parade.
Afterwards, we’ll visit the costume loje and try them on for size. A farewell caipirinha will be served at the end of the tour.

Arrival in Paraty
No other city in Brazil breathes such colonial air. This helps us understand why Paraty is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visiting this town and strolling along its cobbled streets offers visitors a journey through time. Paraty not only offers well-preserved colonial architectural marvels, but also access to exuberant natural beauty, from rainforest-covered mountains with their many rivers and waterfalls, to a bay with clear, calm waters and islands with splendid beaches. Paraty is located within the Serra da Bocaina National Park.

Oh God, if there’s a heaven on earth, it’s not far from here!
Even if the landscape has changed since Amerigo Vespucci’s arrival, PARATY remains a corner of paradise, wedged between the sea (Baia da Ilha Grande) and the mountains (Serra do Mar).
It’s easy to discover the city and its many reminders of colonial times as you stroll along the pes-de-moleque, the local name for the irregularly-paved streets.
You’ll see Santa Rita, the church of the freed mulattos, which houses a small museum of sacred art. Of Paraty’s three main splendid old churches, this is the oldest (1722). The other two were respectively.
