In the morning, take the high-speed train to Zhenjiangguan, then change for a bus to Jiuzhaigou, where you can rest at the hotel. (Optional recommendation: Large-scale authentic show)

Jiuzhaigou is a valley with a depth of over 50 km and a total area of 650.74 square kilometers. It is named so because there are nine Tibetan villages in the valley, such as Shuzheng, Lotus Leaf, and Zechawa, which are located amidst this group of alpine lakes. In 2009, the Nuorilang waterfall, with a width of 320 meters, was recognized as the largest waterfall in China by the China World Records Association. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992, Jiuzhaigou Valley harbors a rich ecosystem.

After breakfast, drive to the picturesque site of Huanglong. There are many colorful pools in the ditch, which change color with the changing landscape and angle of the sunlight; take the high-speed train back to Chengdu.

After breakfast, the Sanxingdui Museum not only ranks among the top ten archaeological discoveries of the 20th century in China but has also set and broken numerous world records and Chinese records, with many records being selected as the best in the world and in China by the China World Records Association. The Grand Buddha is a seated statue of the Maitreya Buddha, standing at 71 meters tall, and is the largest cliff stone sculpture statue in China.

After breakfast, visit Baoguo Temple. It is the location of the Buddhist Association of Mount Emei and the center of Buddhist activities on Mount Emei. After breakfast, we will visit the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, built in 256 BC to control flooding of the Minjiang River and to utilize it for irrigation. The system was constructed by the scientist Li Bing, the initiator of global hydraulic culture. It is characterized by its age and the absence of water diversion from dams.

After breakfast, take the car to the Sichuanese Cuisine Museum, a museum that not only provides a history of Sichuan cuisine but is also the only museum in the world dedicated to the theme of local cuisine culture. Then visit Wuhou Temple. In the afternoon, we will visit Wuhou Temple, built in the 6th century in honor of Zhuge Liang, the famous military strategist and statesman of the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period (221 – 589).
Jinli Street is a replica of traditional architecture from western Sichuan. It is one of the oldest and liveliest streets in the city’s history.

Head to the Qingyang Palace, built during the Tang Dynasty (618-907) and renovated during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). It is one of the most important Taoist temples in Southwest China. Then, visit Wenshu Monastery, a Buddhist temple with a long history and one of Chengdu’s cultural landmarks.
Return
